Sorry you've not been able to find how to turn off spatial sound setting.

You can turn spatial sound on or off from the sound icon in your notification area near your clock.

Plug in your headphones/headset.

Right-click your speaker icon, hover over Spatial Sound, and select "Windows Sonic for Headphones" to enable it or select "Off" to disable it.

I want it to be always off, everytime I run my headset it immediately change from default to Windows Sonic!. My headset is Steelseries arctis pro wireless.

OK, I think I've found what you need to do. In the manual for your headset, it tells you to press and hold the secondary button (17) on the transmitter base (next to the control knob) and this will toggle surround sound option ON/OFF.

See the pic below for the info in the manual telling you this. I have boxed it off in red.

I have also including a secondary pic to show you the secondary button to press and hold (17).

This negates having to use Windows at all to turn off surround sound. When the surround signal is being generated, Windows is forced into the Surround Sound option. because that is what is being generated (and why it keeps reverting back to surround sound). Toggling surround off on the transmitter base stops it at the source.

Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

Thanks Neil for your response, I know what you mean, but I have never used this method to enable surround sound on the transmitter or by their program and I am sure that it's off. Is there any way to get into Windows settings and disable it or anything?

That's the method stated by the manufacturer. You press and hold it and it will toggle it either on or off depending on what it's currently set to.

If it is outputting a surround sound signal, then windows will always default to surround sound every time.

So you need to make sure that the transmitter is definitely set to off for surround sound and then Right-click your speaker icon, hover over Spatial Sound, and select "Windows Sonic for Headphones" and select "Off" to disable it.

Next time you connect with it it should remain in the Off state because the transmitter is no longer sending a surround signal.

Yeah that's why I am searching for a solution because it doesn'tremain in the Off state and I am sure that the transmitter is definitely set to off for surround sound and I select "Windows Sonic for Headphones" and select "Off" to disable it. That is my problem, if I can just delete Windows Sonic from my system I pretty sure this problem will be solved, but I don't know how.

OK, I understand. It's hard for me to try and make sure you have tried all the steps I've suggested. I really don't mean to sound patronising (if I do). I just want to help you resolve your problem.

Can we try the following:

Connect your headphones to your PC.

Right click on your volume icon in your system icons and choose "Open sound settings"

In the sound settings window, on the right hand side, click on "Sound control panel"

In playback devices, click on your headphones to select them. Then click on the properties button.

In the properties window for your headphones, click on the Spatial sound tab.

In the Spatial sound format area, click the drop down box and select Off.

Click Apply and then OK at the bottom.

Now try and see if the problem resolves.
